BRYCE (SCANDALOUS BOYS #1) BY NATALIE DECKER

Bryce (Scandalous Boys #1)
by Natalie Decker
Publication Date:  February 22, 2016
Publisher:  Swoon Romance
Bryce Matthews doesn’t do the whole nice boyfriend thing. Chocolates and flowers—girls can forget all that. And he certainly doesn’t care about the gossip and rumors that follow him at school and around town. If anything, the talk amuses him. Bryce isn't lacking in confidence. He knows himself and he knows his limits. One of those hard limits is Madison Issac. Bryce can never have her, and he's perfectly fine with that. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality anyway.

Madison Issac thought she was a pretty good judge of character. But she's surprised at how gentle and comforting resident bad-boy and next-door neighbor Bryce Matthews is when we finds her crying in the park.

Maybe there's more to Bryce than people think? So Madison begins to wonder.

Can a guy like Bryce ever change his ways?

Can a girl like Madison really be into a guy like Bryce?

With hearts and reputations on the line, this kind of love can be scandalous.

About The Autho

Natalie Decker is the Author of Rival Love series. She loves oceans, sunsets, sand between her toes, and carefree days. Her imagination is always going, which some find odd. But she believes in seeing the world in a different light at all times. Her first passion for writing started at age twelve when she had to write a poem for English class. However, seventh grade wasn’t her favorite time and books were her source of comfort. She took all college prep classes in High school, and attended the University of Akron. Although she studied Mathematics she never lost her passion for writing or her comfort in books. She’s a mean cook in the kitchen, loves her family and friends and her awesome dog infinity times infinity. If she’s not writing, reading, traveling, hanging out with her family and friends, then she’s off having an adventure. Because Natalie believes in a saying: Your life is your own journey, so make it amazing!

Coffee Books & Art – Interview

1. The best book/s you ever read ?

I just finished up a slew of Hockey books. The Roommates, The Score, and Kissing in cars And I really enjoyed them. I will always love the Harry Potter Series, Dark Guardian Series, Vampire Academy Series, The Mortal Instruments series, Divergent series, Twilight series, Anna and the French Kiss, To All the boys I’ve ever Loved, and PS I still Love You.

2. How did you get into writing?

I think I’ve always been in it since Elementary school, writing poems here and there, then it morphed into books during college.

3. Who inspires you?

My kids and family. Honestly, anything I do is for them.

4. Did you do any kind of research to determine the details of your characters lives / lifestyles?

Yes. Google is the best thing EVER!

5. Did you always plan for more than one book? What can we expect from the sequel?

I usually always plan for more than one book. Next book in this series will be Graham’s story. Yay. That’ll be here in the fall of 2016.

6. Did any real-life political incidents or maneuvering make it into the book?

Nope.

7. Do you have strange writing habits? If you could eliminate one thing from your daily schedule, what would it be and why?

I outline but that’s not strange. I should really stop reading books all the way through one sitting. No matter how terrible or terrific. I do my reading at night right before I go to bed and sometimes wake up with a book-hangover.

8. How did you come up with the title? Names?

Names: Baby Name Book, and Last names would be the phone book. Title: My wonderful Publisher Georgia and I decided since we were going to name the series Scandalous Boys (Cause that’s just so fun to say) we’d name each title by the main boy’s name.

9. What gender you prefer for your main character will be? why?

Well, it depends on the story. In this one I have both Bryce and Madison as the main characters because it’s their story. In other book I’m working on let’s call it Side Project X because it’s not finished and I haven’t shown to anyone. Anyways, this one is turning out to be a girl POV all the way. Because I want this to be her story.

10. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?

Eyes, then smile. Usually don’t care about hair unless it’s like five different shades and is all Wow WTF. But mostly it’s the eyes.

11. What sacrifices have you had to make to be a writer?

None. Look, I have a super supportive family. And I’m a time management type person. I always cook homemade meals. Last night was Ricotta Gnoochi’s. Thing is we can be writers and have it all. There are 24 hours in each and every day. Nothing changes. I wake up and get daughter and son ready for school. Then I write for an hour. I work from eight to three. Homework, Dinner, and then work a smidge more until seven. Then I write from eight to nine.

12. Do you think that the cover plays an important part in the buying process?

I think a good cover helps. It draws readers to the book. Then they flip it over to see what it’s about. Yes, I’m a judge of covers. Sorry world this is what draws me to all your pretties. To keep my attention if it has an interesting blurb then I buy it.

13. What do you think of “trailers” for books?

I love book trailers. I’m all for the interactive ones like Simone Elkeles Perfect Chemistry series. Those are fun.

14. Name one thing that drives you crazy in the publishing industry?

Just one? Kidding. I do have one. Stop this classifying of authors. No matter what route they took. If their book is available for you to purchase then guess what? They’re an author. (What? Shut the front door.) I know right? Mind blowing stuff there. Why does it matter if they went the traditional way or did it themselves? It doesn’t. Support every author, no matter how they came to be.

15. What’s the best thing that anyone said to you when you were in a writing low spot?'

Keep working and prove them wrong.

16. How do you celebrate when you finish a novel?

Drink. Kidding. I usually lounge around in my Pj’s for most of the day then go out for dinner at night. Not in my Pj’s. Although that would be quite funny if you ask me. ;)

17. Where did you grow up? tell us a little about yourself

I grew up in a small town called Toronto, Ohio. I played a lot of sports, was a super big Tomboy. Seriously I only had one girl as a friend. The rest were boys that my brother hung out with. I have two wonderful kids and a husband. My dog recently passed away and I miss her terribly. I hate clowns and snakes. Allergic to coconut. I know for shame. No movie popcorn for me. L I love heights and doing daring stuff. I parasailed when I was eighteen. If I see something funny, like a person getting frustrated buying condoms and they pick them up thinking no one is watching. I’m the person who will shout, “Yeah, Buddy you’re getting some tonight. Wooo hooo!” Yes, I’m so not a person to go shopping with. My brother found that out real quick when I did this in Walmart to a stranger. Those people aren’t going to see me again. I HATE SNOW. Seriously, if we could eliminate winter all together I’d be happy. (Sorry Jack Frost. You’re cute and all, but no.) I love to cook. Honestly it’s the thing I do when I’m stressed. It completely relaxes me. I think that’s about it.

18. What do you consider your best accomplishment?

My kids. Seriously I think they’re great. They’re funny witty and respectful. They’re also stubborn when it comes to something they firmly believe in. Like when it’s time for bed. But I love them. Just the way they are and even if I might want to smack their butts for being crazy, I wouldn’t change them for anything.

19. What is your favorite quote?

Your life is your own journey, so make it amazing!
20. What’s the worst job you’ve had?

Don’t hate me, but I’ve actually never had a bad job. Seriously, I loved all my jobs. I had a lot of them. But I loved them all.

Thank you Natalie
